Arrive Delhi by International flight. Day 2 In Delhi Cultural Tours Breakfast at the hotel. Day 3 Delhi - Jaipur Morning after breakfast proceed to Jaipur. The historic city of Jaipur or "The City of Victory"
was founded in 1727 A.D. by the great Kachhawah ruler Sawai Jai Singh
II (1700 - 1747 A.D.), and named after him. The monarch was not only a
great builder, but also a poet and an astronomer. Under his aegis, the
city was designed by his talented architect Vidyadhar, who gave shape
to the creative aspirations of Sawai Jai Singh in the form of the dream
city of Jaipur Overnight at the hotel. Day 4 In Jaipur Heritage Tours Breakfast at the hotel Morning you will be given excursion to Amber fort alongwith Elephant ride and afternoon city tour of Jaipur. Tour of the impressive Amber Fort, situated on a ridge just outside Jaipur City. At the foot of the hill you will mount your caparisoned elephant for the slow but steady climb up to the main gate, making your entrance in the time honoured fashion. The Fort, completed in the early 18th century, took over 100 years to build and now, although deserted, offers a fascinating insight into the lifestyle of the Moghul ruling families Tour of the Pink City - Your tour will include the imposing City Palace, still home to the Maharaja although several of the rooms are now open to the public. Many antiques and artefacts belonging to the ruling family are housed here, including a collection of weaponry. You will also visit the Hawa Mahal, "Palace of the Winds", and the open-air Jantar Mantar Observatory to see the vast astronomical instruments. Enjoy a stroll through the colourful bazaar before returning to your hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast proceed for Mandawa. Upon arrival check in at the hotel. Walk through the Shekawati region, which was the stronghold
of Kayamkhani Nawabs till 1730. Besides the cenotaphs, wells, forts and
temples the majority of frescoes are painted on the walls and gateways
of Havelis. The havelis are mansion of a unique residential architectural
style that evolved around courtyards to serve the purpose of family security,
privacy for the women as also protecting the inhabitants from the long,
harsh summers. The enormous Havelis with fascinating murals built by the
wealthy Rajasthani merchants ("Marwaris") in the 19th century. Day 6 Mandawa - Bikaner After breakfast proceed for Bikaner. Bikaner was a bustling trade centre in the yesteryears and
figured on the caravan routes from Africa to Asia. The walled city of
Bikaner stands on the northern tip of the desert triangle. It is situated
on elevated ground, surrounded by a 7km long embattled high wall. Monuments
here are chisled out of red and yellow sandstone and display some of the
finest characteristics of the Rajput civilisation. Bikaner boasts a spectacular
fort and an old city dotted with havelis, and colurful bazaars. Overnight at the hotel. Day 7 In Bikaner Morning after breakfast proceed for the city tour of Bikaner. Today enjoy city tour covering Junagadh Fort – constructed between 1588 and 1593 by Raja Rai Singh, fort has a 986 metre long wall with 37 bastions & two entrances, Bhand Sagar Temple – The 16th century Jain temple, is the most important of this temple complex, Camel Breeding Farm a unique experience where you can ride on a camel & have perhaps the first taste of camel’s milk. Overnight at the hotel. Day 8 Bikaner – Deshnok – Nagaur - Khimsar Fort Tours Breakfast at the hotel. Morning drive for Khimsar en-route covering the sightseeing of Deshnok the Rat Temple. Karni Mata Temple, Deshnoke lying at the distance of 30km from Bikaner. Visit the 600 years ancient shrine of Goddess Karni. You will be astonished to see that besides the Goddess the other deity of the temple are rats. The people have a strong notion that these rodents will be reincarnated as divine human. Later visit the unique town of Nagaur, one of the most picturesque of Rajput townships resounds with life during the Nagaur Fair. This cattle fair is the second largest in Rajasthan and is held every year during the Hindu month of Magh (Jan-Feb). By afternoon you will be reaching to Khimsar, visiting Khimsar Fort. This fort architecture offers great discrepancy. Initially, the fort walls, minarets and stables were built solely for war but later on when the royal family shifted to the fort in 18th century the fort was restructured. Today, this fort ranks amongst the premier classified Heritage Hotels of India. Overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast start your trip to Jodhpur en-route covering Osian and Mandore. Osian (58km) is also referred as an oasis in the desert. Pay a visit to beautifully carved Jain temples of 11th century dedicated to Lord Mahavira followed by a visit to Sun Temple, Kali temple and the Sachiya Mata Temple. Mandore (8 km) see the cenotaphs of Jodhpur rulers amidst the beautiful gardens. The walls of the cenotaphs are festooned with 15 sculptures of Hindu deities tunneled out of the hard rocks, a worth visiting sight. By evening reach to Jodhpur. The city has a history of battles and royalty as is highly evident by the huge Meherangarh fort overlooking the city. There are some old monuments to see here and you can make a stop before heading to other places in Rajasthan. Did you know that the famous baggy/tight riding trousers called Jodhpuris take their name from this city? The city which stands at the edge of the Thar Desert, was founded by Rao Jodha, a chief of the Rajput clan known as Rathores in 1459. Overnight at the hotel. Day 10 Jodhpur - Delhi - Onward Destinations After breakfast you will be guided to Mehrangarh fort crowning on the hilly terrain of Aravali Ranges at a height of 125m. The beauty and the glory of many royal palaces in the fort speak epic of red sandstone Palace. Ummaid bhawan a beautiful architectural splendor is still the residence of erstwhile rulers of Jodhpur, the part of the palace is converted as a heritage hotel and part is preserve as a museum. Government Museum the museum has sumptuous amassing of arms and ammunitions, royal dresses portraits of royal family. Later you will be transferred to the airport in time to connect your flight for Delhi. Upon arrival you will be transferred directly to the airport to connect your flight for onward destination.
